Our Local Jamaican Artists:
Jamaica's modern art historybegan in the 1930's, when a small group of artists established the first National Art Collection at the institute of Jamaica. The response to this was so encouraging that classes and exhibitions were also held there. This led to the birth of The Jamaica School of Art, presently part of The Edna Manley College for the Visual and Performing Arts.
Jamaican artists express their consciousness of scenes and life; from intuitive work and naive wood carvings, through sculpture, pottery and ceramics, to the subjective and symbolic work of the explorative artist.
Frame Centre Gallery has been one of Jamaica's pioneering galleries to feature and support the careers of our many talented artists.
Below you'll find a variety of original works of art in our vast collection available for sale.
